How to Study: For Parents
Often, parents feel that once their child reaches high school, the child can function on auto-pilot. This is not true. It is at this time that your support is crucial. It is important that parents be involved in the process of education as monitors of homework assignments, and encouragers of academic achievement. You do not have to have a firm grasp on the math to support your child. Here are some no-no's for parents.
1) Never say, "I was not good at math. "
2) Never say, "My child is not good at math."
If you take the time to verify that steps 1, 4, and 7 (left) are completed everyday, you will be well on the way to supporting your child's success.
Be sure your child's teacher has your e-mail address, work and home phone number, and your mailing address.
